How has your new year been? It has been a great week and we
were able to see wonders here at temple square. The Spirit has been so strong
and the Savior's love is felt all over the place. This is a great time for us
to look back on the year 2013 and see the blessings and good things that we had
this past year. It is also a time to make some resolutions, things that we
needed to improve on and be better. I know I have TONS to work on this year.
Last Monday, we had an "Endure It Well" meeting
and we watched a talk from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Twelve. It was
really powerful. It tells us press forward and to "Leave our nets"
forever. The Lord has commanded us to love Him and serve Him by doing the same
thing to others, not only in this life, but for eternities. He mentioned about
letting the mission become WHO I AM and WHO I WILL BE in the future as God
wants us to be.
Last Tuesday, we had a New Years eve celebration and our
Mission President shared us a story about Flamingos. It talks about how
flamingos get their orange-pink color due to the things that they feed on and
it helped us ponder of our spirituality. In order for us to achieve our fullest
divine nature, we must "feast upon the words of Christ" (2 Nephi
32:3) and keep the Lord's commandments and keep our sacred covenants. It may be
difficult because we have our weaknesses but through the Atonement of our
Savior, we still have that possibility and hope to become perfect through
repentance.
So I guess that's all I could share for this week. Sorry if
I couldn't attach any pictures for now. But I will be sending some soon.
